We are excited about a great year of music-making ahead for all of our musicians.  Especially exciting news is that our 8th Grade Concert Band has been selected to perform at the Minnesota Music Educators Association annual conference at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Friday, February 14th at 1:15 p.m.  We are honored for our students and music program to receive this recognition.  We will preview this concert on Thursday, January 30th in the Chaska High School auditorium at 7:00 p.m. along with the Chaska High School Wind Symphony.  The 8th grade band will also be taking an overnight trip with the CMS West and CMS East 8th grade bands to the Beyond the Notes Music Festival at Kalahari Resort in the Wisconsin Dells May 21-22nd.

Band rehearsals are underway  Percussionists please leave bell kits set up at home and bring just your sticks and mallets. We have all percussion instruments at school.  Soon all students will have a new folder, band books, and instrument locker.  Thanks to all who paid the band book fee during our orientation.  If you did not, please send a check/cash to the band room for $30 made out to PRMS at your earliest convenience.  Percussionists and tuba players also have an additional $40 fee to help cover the usage and maintenance of the school tubas and percussion equipment.  There are some school-owned woodwind and brass instruments available for student rental.  The rental fee is $100 for the school year.  If you know of someone who would like to donate an instrument to Pioneer Ridge, please let me know.  Students who need to order supplies for their instrument can pick up an order form in the band room at any time.
