we doing? |
- Comprehensive alignment of curriculum across all 3 middle schools.
- Teacher teams (PLCs) meet regularly to analyze common summative assessment data and find trends and growth areas in instructional practices to improve student learning outcomes.
- Continuous professional development focused on rigorous, equitable learning and outcomes for all students with specific focus on developing students’ literacy skills through explicit literacy and vocabulary instruction.
- Check in with students frequently to make sure they are continuing to grow in their learning.
- Have more lessons that involve active learning by students.

- Explicit teaching of essential vocabulary and literacy strategies
- Checks of student learning that could be short quizzes and student reflections. Some will be paper and pencil, and some will be electronic.

- Additional lessons in Advisory about building school community, individual growth, and the importance of care for one another
- Clear school-wide expectations for positive student engagement
- Students greeted by name as they enter classrooms and learning spaces
